Frequently Asked Questions

About Shipping Containers

FAQs

How long have you been in business?

We have been open since 2016.

How long does it take to get my container delivered?

On average it takes 7 to 10 business days. It can vary with truck availability.

What are my payment options?

We can accept credit cards, Paypal, and Venmo with a 3.5% fee, or we can do cash or ACH for free!

Is my payment secure?

We use Quickbooks to build your invoice and their secure payment processing system, so you know the payment is secure. We never see your payment information.

Can I see pictures of the container before I purchase my shipping container?

Unfortunately, we do not catalog all our containers. Instead, the industry has developed a grading system to determine the condition of the containers for resale. That way, you know what you are getting when you purchase without pictures. We carry Grade A used containers, also known as WWT.

What shipping container grades do you carry?

We carry one-trip and wind and water-tight containers.

I'm not sure what I need, can someone help me?

Yes, we would love to talk to you! You can call us at 385-529-0225 or send us an email to [email protected]

What about painting my container?

The only place we offer painting services is in SLC. The cost is $1,150 and up, depending on the container. It's pretty amazing what a paint job will do for your container (if you need it). You can do it yourself pretty quickly for about $400 of supplies, or there are contractors in any city who would be willing to paint your container. The prices will vary based on the market, but they are easy to find.

What's the difference between One-Trip and Wind-Water-Type?

A one-trip container is a manufactured container that has been loaded with cargo, shipped across the ocean, has its cargo unloaded, and then is released and sold.

Wind and Watertight containers are on average 7 to 10 years old. They are likely to have rust, dents, and may have had some patch work done to them. WWT's are not as aesthetically pleasing as a one-trip container.

We thoroughly inspect our WWT containers to ensure they will still meet all your storage container needs.

Do the containers have a lot of rust?

These are used containers that have been exposed to the elements and have been loaded and unloaded 100’s of times. There is going to be some surface rust, dents and scratches, there can also be damage repair patches but overall the structure has been inspected and it is good. There are no obvious holes or leaks. This does not mean waterproof. If surface rust is concern, we suggest you upgrade to a 1-trip, which will be nearly flawless on the outside. Call us and we'll help you figure out what's best for you.

Can I come see your shipping containers?

Unfortunately, our storage depots are not set up with viewing areas for customers to see containers (safety issues). Instead, the industry has developed a grading system to determine the condition of the containers for resale. That way, you know what you are getting when you purchase the container. We can send you some pictures of recent deliveries.

What if there are issues with our delivery because of delivery space, road conditions, tight turns, property access, or weather?

We rely on the customer to communicate the conditions of their property as well as travel routes, clearance heights, and road conditions. Our drivers will do their very best to deliver the container as close as possible to where the customer has requested. Once it is loaded on the truck and in route, any issues with the delivery due to the delivery conditions above are the financial responsibility of the customer, not the delivery company or Large Scale Containers.
